Our vision in God's service
1978 Light of the Valley was established by 8 people. Church services were held at Camp Caroline under the care of Harold Lovelady and the guidance of Grace Lutheran in Escondido. The Reverend Waldo Boettcher was the first pastor. In less than two years, the membership had grown to 80 congregants.
1992 Ground was finally broken for a new church on a two and half acre site purchased in 1982. The present structure was erected as a “mission church” by the Builders for Christ. A year later, on July 11, 1993, the new Light of the Valley Lutheran Church was dedicated to the service of our Lord.
2002 One of our young boy scout members earned his eagle scout badge with the construction of our children's playground.
2005 We refurbished the Santuary and created a children's Sunday School wing.
2006 Pastor Jeff Caithamer was ordained at Light of the Valley. He is joined by his wife Katie and serves the church to this date.
2007 The congregation has approved a long range plan to expand church facilities for adult outreach programs, day care, pre-school and day school.
There is a place for all ages at Light of the Valley
